Looking For a Friend?

Got a spayed or neutered lonely pooch who is craving some canine companionship but you are not able to get to the dog park, or as is often the case, not really confident of how the other dogs there will behave? I may have the solution you need.

One of my personal dogs, Buddy, loves to play and socialize with other dogs, large or small, young or old. He is gentle with puppies, rowdy with adolescents, and happy to just hang out and sniff around with older dogs.  He is a Canine Good Citizen and a Registered Therapy Dog. We laugh together many times throughout the day.  Buddy is my demonstration dog and has been very well socialized and trained. Buddy has never been in a fight with another dog and I intend to keep it that way.

Buddy happily supervises the gang with me on Tuesday nights during the Puppy Playtimes at Petco every week. You can come by and see us there, bring your pup (aged 6 months or less) and join the fun or just stop by and check us out.  Please call to let me know you are coming by. If Tuesday night doesn’t work for you, give me a call and we can set up another time. 

I would love to show Buddy off to you and it would be best if the dogs can meet for the first time on neutral ground.  If all goes well, we can make a play date!  The first three to five sessions should be scheduled when you are home to help observe and supervise.  As long as we all feel comfortable with the play on your dog’s home turf, later sessions can be scheduled when you are home or away.

I will bring Buddy to your home for a play date, supervise the dogs’ play for a half hour, and then we’ll take them both for a half hour walk around the neighborhood. Your dog will get physical, mental, and social exercise!

IMPORTANT NOTE ON BUDDY SESSIONS:

Please understand that I will not risk my dog’s well being and happiness.  I will end the session if I am uncomfortable with the interactions at any point during playtimes and I encourage you to do the same!  For this reason, I am unwilling to allow Buddy to participate in play sessions with dogs over the age of 9 months who have not been spayed or neutered. None of our dogs need to practice aggressive behavior.
